Here at Great Southern Fuel Supplies, our commitment to the communities we serve goes beyond the road. We believe in the health and wellbeing of every West Australian, which is why we are incredibly proud to support the vital work of the Lions Cancer Institute (WA) Inc..
We are thrilled to share the news of their new, state-of-the-art Mobile Skin Screening Clinic, which is now travelling throughout WA providing free, potentially lifesaving skin cancer screenings.
A New State-of-the-Art Clinic for WA
The Lions Cancer Institute (LCI) officially launched its new mobile screening facility on April 15th at Truck Centre WA in Forrestfield. This modern clinic, built on a Volvo cab and chassis, features three private screening rooms, an office, and a lift to ensure accessibility for disabled patients.
This crucial project was made possible through the generous funding from Lions Clubs, the Lions Clubs International Foundation, and donations from WA businesses, including Great Southern Fuel Supplies. The new unit was also formally introduced at Parliament House on May 14th, 2025, an event attended by the Governor, His Excellency the Honourable Chris Dawson, AM, APM.

Immediate, Lifesaving Impact
The new clinic is already making a significant difference. The screening results from just eight days across five locations in May and June show the incredible impact of this service:
- 574 people were screened.
- 113 individuals were referred for further medical review.
- 45 potentially life-threatening lesions were identified.
- Critically,
131 people who attended had never been screened before.
These numbers highlight the urgent need for accessible health services in our regional areas and the profound, immediate impact of the LCI’s work.
